FAQs About Veterinary Consultations

  • Yes - we will endeavour to book your appointment with the veterinary professional of your choice.

  • This will vary depending on the circumstance. A normal veterinary or nurse consultation will often last 15 minutes, however more time can be allocated if needed. If you have brought your pet in for a behavioural consultation this could take up to an hour. A referral consultation may take 60 minutes.

  • Yes. Many of our practices have Saturday surgeries (check opening times for your nearest practice).

Unlike many vets, we pride ourselves on providing our own ‘in-house’ first opinion and referral services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at Pride Park Hospital.

  • Again, unlike many vets we also provide our own ‘Vets at Night’ service. If you call through to one of our practices or Pride Park, the Vets at Night service will answer and a consultation appointment can be made at Pride Park Hospital.

  • A recheck is advised when further treatment is required or if a response to treatment needs to be gauged. Even if your pet is much improved, we would always recommend to still go to the recheck appointment as often the focus is not just on checking if your pet is better, but also there is a renewed focus on problem prevention. We do charge for rechecks but often at a subsidised rate as we understand the importance of maintaining continuity of care.
