Dog Behaviour & Training Support

Our aim is to prevent behavioural problems occurring

Puppies

Puppy Training Course

A recent report shows 75% of dog owners would like to change their dogs behaviour and there’s no better time than starting whilst they’re young. To reduce behavioural problems in the future, it is important puppies under the age of 20 weeks experience meeting other puppies and people to become well socialised and used to new surroundings. Our 4 week course teaches good manners from a young age and uses positive training methods to deal with puppy behaviour.

This 4 week course includes a puppy starter pack and information booklet. To book a place on this course, please contact our Park Farm practice on 01332 554422.

All puppy training sessions are currently held in our indoor arena at Pride Veterinary Centre. Please note, puppies must be vaccinated to enrol on this course.

Dogs

Unfortunately, behavioural problems are the main cause of euthanasia in dogs under 2 years old. If you are experiencing any issues however big or small it is best to speak to us now before it is too late.

Dogs learn how to cope with stressful situations by avoiding or showing aggressive tendencies, the more the dogs have to practice these behaviours the worse the problem becomes. Seeking professional help straight away means we are able to change dogs behaviour and emotional state, enabling owners to understand why and how to deal with the problem safely.

Dog Behaviour Classes

Our behaviour classes are held at our Park Farm practice and we are currently able to offer the following:

  • Behavioural Consultation
  • Individual Training Course
  • Social Vet Visits

Behavioural Consultation

Does you pet have behavioural problems? Why not have an initial consultation with Kat Johnson to discuss the problem and offer advice on how to rectify and treat any issues you may have. This is a one hour behavioural consultation.

Sometimes, issues with your pets behaviour may be more serious, such as signs of aggression. In instances like this your pet may need more help over a longer period of time. This is where our full training package can help.

Tailored to your needs, this package consists of a one hour consultation, an action plan, ongoing phone call support and 2 training consults with Kat Johnson.

Please call Park Farm on 01332 554422 for more information and all the relevant costs.

Individual Training Course

Does your dog need:

* Life skills for Puppies *

* Life skills for Adolescent Dogs *

* Life skills for Rescue Dogs *

Why not book in for our individual training course. This offers 1-2-1 training with Kat Johnson who can tailor each session to you and your pets individual needs.

Please call Park Farm on 01332 554422 for more information and all the relevant costs.

Social Vet Visits

Is your dog scared of the vets? We can help! We offer social visits with a nurse to help get your dog more comfortable in the surgery and used to any equipment being handled. These are quick and stress-free sessions, and make future vet visits less stressful for both you and your dog.
